What about Area 51?
Area 51 is a remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base in southern Nevada. The government possesses a depot at the Area 51 site, which is used for the development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems. Area 51 is still considered a highly classified area, but there are many rumors about what goes on inside. Allegations have been made that scientists are working on everything from teleportation to aliens to weather control, but these are all conspiracies.
Are Aliens in Area 51?
Aliens are not in Area 51, but the government has not officially ruled out the possibility. The Area 51 site is not open to the public, and there have been a number of sightings of aliens in the vicinity. According to an Air Force document, Area 51 has existed since the early 1950s to test Cold War weapons, and was designed to be remote enough to be safe from detection. The program has included testing of UFO technology, the development of hypersonic aircraft and even a teleportation device.
Are People Allowed in Area 51?
People may be allowed in Area 51, but not without a security clearance. The Air Force has strict guidelines on what people are allowed to do in Area 51; those that have been in the facility and violated security regulations may find themselves in trouble. Security is constantly being reviewed, and an arrest may result in a prison sentence. The general public is not allowed to enter Area 51; however, in the 1950s a small group of people were allowed to visit the facility, and a small number of people have even been granted security clearance.
Some people have entered Area 51, but they are not allowed to make any photographs or recordings. Visitors are limited to official personnel, and no photographs can be taken (except for photographs to be sent to other people). Visitors are allowed to observe but not to participate in activities under the direct supervision of government employees. Although Area 51 is generally considered a secure location, visitors are not allowed to bring in pets or other non-permissible items.
